Starting again
It's time for me to start using this blog again. I need a safe place to vent and share my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. That was my original intent, but it ended up only being "fluff" pieces, which is fine, but doesn't really speak from my heart, you know? I'm not sure what I want to write about next, but figured I need to start getting myself in the habit of writing. Hopefully I can do this at least once a week, if not more. I do enjoy reading my friend's blogs.

*I may add to this as I think of things*
It's best to have clean glass. I have painted over the occasional corner cobweb and dust, but it's nicer w/out crud.
For inside windows (or weather-protected outside) I use tempera paint. NOT the powdered mix-it-up-yourself kind. Most art supply stores should carry some brand.
The bare minimum colors you should have:
Colors that are nice to buy already made, but not necessary:
Colors I typically make by mixing one or more colors together:
Color mixing is lots of fun. If you only need a little bit, you can mix in one of the paint bottle lids. If you do this long enough, you'll eventually have empty (or nearly empty) bottles and you can turn those into new colors. I've been saving plastic peanut butter containers b/c they are easy to hold, wide opening for mixing and dipping the brush into (you have to use the lid of the bottles once the level gets down a bit), but any small plastic container will work. I bought some of the Ziploc plastic containers, and they work okay, but aren't airtight, so the paint dried out from one year to the next, and after 2 years, it's kind of brittle, so beware of cheap stuff!
************************************************
For painting outside, you can buy special sign painters paint which is waterproof once it's dry. Nice colors, coverage, and texture, but is more expensive than tempera. Also, it's the same basic composition (latex acrylic) as house paint, so that is what I've started buying, at least for the high-use colors (white, blue, green) because it's so much cheaper! I just bought red today, but it doesn't cover as well. The major drawback to using this kind of paint is that it doesn't wash off with just water. It needs to be scraped off the windows.
************************************************
What to paint? Choose a picture/drawing of something you feel comfortable drawing. You can get ideas from greeting cards, wrapping paper, internet, coloring books, etc. The easiest way to do this is to use a black permanent marker and draw the outline, so it looks like a coloring book. Then fill it in.
(added Nov 2010) When filling in the spaces, it's important to make the strokes smooth and go from one side of the space to the other. As long as the paint is wet (but it does dry quickly), it's fairly easy to go back over it to make it look nice. You can also use different strokes to add "texture" to a section. For instance, if you want a fluffy lamb, start at the bottom of the section and make swirly strokes kind of in rows, making the one above it go over it slightly. (If you start at the top, it will look like the lamb is standing on a vent!) Same for straw or pine needles - make short straight strokes starting at the outer edge, and move back in and go just over where you started the previous strokes, and then the last ones would be butted against a line.
************************************************
Once it's all painted, I then go back over all the black lines w/ black paint. THEN I go around the outside of the whole picture with white. The white really makes it stand out (sort of like a vinyl cling), especially at night.
************************************************
Brushes:
The typical pointy ended brushes are necessary for lines and filling in small places and you may find you like them for other things, too. I have two different sizes. Don't get these too floppy, though (like water color brushes) or you won't have much control.
My favorite brush is a fan brush. They cover really well, or can be used to cover very lightly with just a hint of paint on the edge. I have a couple sizes of this style, too. These should be almost stiff.
I also have the square end/edge kind in a couple sizes. I use these a lot for some types of lettering, especially larger words. Sometimes I will use one of these to put on the final white around the picture.
************************************************
I will try to take step-by-step pictures of my next window and I will add them here for reference. If you have any questions at all, please ask!
This is a fun activity for the children, too, even the very young ones. Just make sure they're either naked or wearing painting clothes! :D I usually draw the picture (their choice), let them color it in, and then I will go back over the lines and occasionally scrape off the excess that make it outside the borders. And always take a picture!
Oh, and clean up. What works best for me is to spray the painting w/ water, use a large scraper/razor blade in an upward motion, and wipe the paint onto paper towels after every swipe. Once all (or most) of the paint is gone, clean windows as you normally would.

The painting nearly complete. I put a light blue for shading in the snow, but you can skip that if you choose. |

Silent Christians
So you're a Christian? What's YOUR excuse for standing silent?
November 4, 2009 at 9:57 pm
This has bugged me for a long time. What true Christian can side with CPS and the taking of children away from their family? What true Christian can HELP take away those children? What true Christian can help take away their own grandchildren from their daughter, with the intent to permanently deprive those grandchildren from having a relationship with their parents?
What Scripture(s) can possibly be used to justify these actions and attitudes?
My family was happy and safe. My children loved and respected me, their father, and their step-father. No abuse or neglect; no starvation; no lack of housing; no "not wanting" of the children. My children were WANTED and LOVED and CHERISHED and WELL-CARED FOR. Nobody was ever afraid.
My "crimes"? Loving my husband and his children, wanting to help protect them. Actually believing the Bible literally, and teaching it to my children so they could use it to navigate through life. Learning about our country and government and teaching it to my children so they would know how things are supposed to be vs. how they really are. Daring to take the "red pill", and disagree with the extended family members who are sold-out slaves to an evil government.
Now my oldest children don't even come to see me, claim they don't want to live with me anymore, and want to stay with their grandparents. They've become so selfish they don't really think long-term, about what is best for the family as a whole, and what their sisters and little brother really need: their MOM. And I can't even talk to them about it.
My girls are as happy as they can be in the situation. They love their grandparents, and they have a decent life. But they don't have their mom, and they REALLY want to come home to me. They should be learning how to become women from their mother. It's the way God planned it. This is abuse.
My youngest sons are "on track" to become "legally free" for adoption, because they have the "right" to a "permanent family". What are their father and I? Chopped liver? We love and WANT our sons, but can't have them. How can it possibly be best for children to have their family stripped away from them? Does it really matter that their "new family" loves them? Adopted children ALWAYS wonder what the TRUTH is, who are their REAL parents, what really happened? This is nothing but ABUSE to the youngest and most vulnerable of our society.
Too many "friends" are afraid to intervene. If they speak up for me to the state, then they might become a target and have their family destroyed next. If they speak up for me to the "caregivers", they will be rejected and ostracized. Everyone wants to keep the peace, yet it is at the expense of MY CHILDREN's future!
Is everyone afraid to stand up for what is right? Apparently so. Sure, my life might be more pleasant if I'd never taken a stand for the TRUTH, but could I have been content with myself, knowing I'd gone against my conscience? I'm criticized and condemned for following scriptural direction on how to be a godly woman/wife.
I'm just so sick of it all. There is no legal, lawful, moral, or scriptural basis for what is happening to my family, yet I will lose them all forever. The family unit (parents & children) isn't sacred anymore. "Family" turning against one another; it's right out of the Bible, the end times. And other so-called Christians defend the ones who are destroying MY family! How can I ever forgive any of them for what they've done to my children? They don't even acknowledge that what they are doing is hurting them. How can it be anything BUT abuse to tear apart a family, take children away from their parents, and turn them against those that they love and trust?
Do I have to wait until each one reaches the age of 18 to see if they still want to have a relationship with me?
CPS/DHS/(whatever initials used) is an EVIL, anti-family, anti-Christian, anti-Constitutional agency who preys upon the good, that only survives by the destruction and havoc it wreaks, and profits from the selling of children! The whole system of "services" needs to be completely and utterly ABOLISHED; there's no hope for reform.
Every family is only an anonymous report away from where I'm at. Think it won't happen to you? Well, I certainly hope it doesn't, but I'm not naive enough to think it won't happen to some of you, either directly or to your grandchildren or to your friends. Arm yourselves today with the knowledge of how they work and how to protect yourself, and it wouldn't hurt to arm yourself with whatever it takes to protect YOUR FAMILY from intruders!
Intervention? No, it's interference in a family. And it's WRONG.

Questions about Obamacare
I am pleased about so many things these days. You may say there isn't a whole lot to be happy about but I beg to differ. I have often said, "When are people going to get angry? When will people say enough is enough? How bad does it have to get?"
I got my answer earlier this year when I attended the April 15th TEA party in Worcester. That was where it started. Now we are seeing angry citizens protesting and getting in the faces of Representatives and Senators in Town Hall meetings all over the country. I was afraid the momentum may be lost after April 15th. I had nothing to worry about.
The current focus seems to be on Healthcare or what is known as Obamacare at these town hall meetings. I don't believe it's just about healthcare. Since Obama has spent $787 billion in bailouts and the T.A.R.P. program and the omnibus and now to spend another "really large" amount of money for healthcare is way too much. Somebody has to pay for it and it will be in taxes imposed on the citizenry. In my opinion, the citizens should be the last place you look.
Here's a couple of issues that nobody has brought up yet.
Let's say the bill passes but it is much less intrusive and costly than it is now. It is "acceptable" to the Republicans (not that they are any better than anyone else). Everybody is much more comfortable with it. Whatever that may be. What's to say it isn't going to be amended and added to in the future?
We know that nothing ever stays the same. When the income tax was passed in 1913 it was 1% on everything over $250k. That doesn't sound bad does it? It doesn't even affect me. I wouldn't complain about it. What has happened over the years? It has gotten amended and changed and added to.
If healthcare passes, no matter how "not that bad" it is, you can be assured it will get worse.
Also, when a government agency is created it never goes away no matter how bad or broke it is. They just keep throwing money at it. If it gets passed, it's permanent.
Once a citizen gets "on the dole" it is very difficult to get them off of it. People become dependent on the free cheese. Take a look at social security, medicare and unemployment. Once people are on these they will take it as long as they can get it. They will also vote for whoever will keep the spigot on and flowing freely.
You can rest assured that once it passes, it will not go away.
In a way I was happy when Obama got elected. I thought, maybe people will get fed up. I was right. If healthcare get's rammed down our throats...... Are you ready for this?

The Voice of Truth
The Voice of Truth
by Casting Crowns
August 7, 2009 at 12:39 am
Oh,what I would do to have
the kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown
Where Jesus is,
And he's holding out his hand
But the waves are calling out my name
and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
time and time again
"Boy, you'll never win,
you'll never win."
But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
Oh, what I would do
to have the kind of strength it takes
To stand before a giant
with just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound
of a thousand warriors
shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand
But the giant's calling out
my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
time and time again
"Boy you'll never win,
you'll never win."
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
But the stone was just the right size
to put the giant on the ground
and the waves they don't seem so high
from on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
when I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
singing over me
But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
The Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of truth says "this is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)
I will choose to listen and believe (I will choose to listen and believe)
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
I will listen and believe
I will listen and believe the Voice of truth
I will listen and believe
'Cause Jesus you are the Voice of truth
And I will listen to you.. oh you are the Voice of truth
the kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown
Where Jesus is,
And he's holding out his hand
But the waves are calling out my name
and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
time and time again
"Boy, you'll never win,
you'll never win."
But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
Oh, what I would do
to have the kind of strength it takes
To stand before a giant
with just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound
of a thousand warriors
shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand
But the giant's calling out
my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
time and time again
"Boy you'll never win,
you'll never win."
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
But the stone was just the right size
to put the giant on the ground
and the waves they don't seem so high
from on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
when I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
singing over me
But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
The Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of truth says "this is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)
I will choose to listen and believe (I will choose to listen and believe)
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
I will listen and believe
I will listen and believe the Voice of truth
I will listen and believe
'Cause Jesus you are the Voice of truth
And I will listen to you.. oh you are the Voice of truth

Some Thoughts about Gov't Healthy Care
Some of "my" (borrowed) thoughts about gov't health care
August 1, 2009 at 12:18 pm"If you have the right to give at all; and as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you may believe, or profess to believe, is a charity and to any amount you may think proper. You will very easily perceive what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism, on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other. 'No, Colonel, Congress has no right to give charity."
The above is an excerpt from "Not Yours to Give", by Colonel David Crockett. You can read it in its entirety @ http://notyourstogive.com/ (and I strongly urge you to read it! It's not very long)
The US Government has a history of taking money from the people (that it has no business taking) and spending it on things that it has no business being involved in. Everything the gov't touches destroys lives, makes us poorer, takes away our freedoms, and makes government bigger and more powerful.
A friend recently shared this quote, and I think it fits right in:
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."~~~~ Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931

There Will Be a Day
There Will Be a Day....
July 23, 2009 at 11:30 pm
I try to hold on to this world with everything I have
But I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that tries to grab
The many trials that seem to never end, His word declares this truth,
that we will enter in this rest with wonders anew
But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings
That there will be a place with no more suffering
There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face
But until that day, we’ll hold on to you always
I know the journey seems so long
You feel your walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you’ve walked out all alone
Troubled soul don’t lose your heart
Cause joy and peace he brings
And the beauty that’s in store
Outweighs the hurt of life’s sting
I can’t wait until that day where the very one I’ve lived for always will wipe away the sorrow that I’ve faced
To touch the scars that rescued me from a life of shame and misery this is why this is why I sing….
There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face
There will be a day, He’ll wipe away the stains, He’ll wipe away the tears, He’ll wipe away the tears…..there will be a day.
